Frida Torresblanco is the CEO of Braven Films, an Academy member and an independent producer of film, documentaries and TV currently based in New York. As a partner for nine years with Alfonso Cuarón, Torresblanco produced, along with Guillermo del Toro, the Oscar-winning film PAN'S LABYRINTH. Braven Films has recently signed an agreement with Viacom International for the development and production of international content in a beneficial First-Look Deal. Under the deal, Braven is currently developing multiple TV series with Viacom, such as CHOSEN DAMAGES, ARTEMISIA and BALENCIAGA, among others. Frida's latest film was DISOBEDIENCE, a romance written and directed by Sebastian Lelio (GLORIA), starring Rachel Weisz (THE FAVOURITE), Rachel McAdams (SPOTLIGHT) and Alessandro Niovla (AMERICAN HUSTLE) and produced in conjunction with Film4, Film Nation, Rachel Weisz and Ed Guiney (ROOM). Braven Films is a film and TV production company with a slate of films including SATAN IS REAL, starring Ethan Hawke and Alessandro Nivola as Ira and Charlie Louvin, famed country gospel singers. Phil Morrison is set to direct, while Frida is producing the project along with Ryan Hawke and Alessandro Nivola. Jason Blum is executive producing and Protagonist Pictures will handle sales. Another project in the development is STOLEN GIRL – a feature film written by Rebecca Pollock and Kas Graham, with James Kent attached to direct. Stolen Girl tells the extraordinary true story of Maureen Dabbagh, a woman from Virginia whose ex-husband stole away their 6 year-old daughter and took her to the Middle East in 1992. From its inception, Braven has sought to develop and produce projects that are both artistically compelling and commercially successful. Collaborating with writers, directors, and artists from all over the world, Braven produces universal cinema, TV series and documentaries that illuminates the human condition.
