Marianna Vargas Gurilieva is the Film Commissioner of the Dominican Republic Film Commission (DGCINE) since 2021, an institution dedicated to the regulation, development and promotion of the Dominican film industry; and the management of the Dominican film fund. Graduate in Law and has a L.L.M. in Business Transactions from Erasmus University Rotterdam. She has a well-established background in legal planning and entertainment. Marianna has served as a Senior Director of the Business Department at OMG, a legal firm in the Dominican Republic. She worked as Director of Business and Legal Affairs for Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios, where she acted as legal advisor for Dominican and international productions filmed in the DR. Marianna acted as a representative for the Film Studios at the Dominican Film Council (CIPAC) and collaborated in the preparation, revision, and modification of the Dominican Film Law. She has extensive knowledge and a well-established background in Corporate and Commercial Law, specializing in legal planning and entertainment. She has also served as jury for various film industry awards and competitions including DALE! at San Sebastian and Prime Corte! Ventana Sur.
